Bishop Tikhon named Locum Tenens of Diocese of the Midwest

CHICAGO, IL [MW Diocese Communications] -- At their retreat in Santa Fe, NM February 22-24, 2011, the members of the Holy Synod of Bishops appointed His Grace, Bishop Tikhon of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania to replace His Beatitude, Metropolitan Jonah as Locum Tenens of the Diocese of the Midwest.

Archimandrite Matthias continues as Administrator of the Diocese. All correspondence to Bishop Tikhon as Locum Tenens should be sent through Archimandrite Matthias.

During the divine services, the order of commemorations is as follows: His Beatitude, Metropolitan Jonah is elevated first, as Primate of the Orthodox Church in America, followed by His Grace, Bishop Tikhon, as Locum Tenens.
