BURR RIDGE, IL [MW Communications] - The annual Diocesan Clergy Convocation begins today at the Carmelite Spiritual Retreat Center in Darien, IL. The convocation is an event which usually provides both spiritual refreshment and continuing pastoral education for the clergy. 

This year's convocation will see the presentation of the candidates for the Office of Bishop of the Diocese of Chicago and the Midwest. Each of the three candidates will address the assembly of clergy. The clergy will also have an opportunity for fellowship with the candidates. 

The Convocation schedule is as follows: 

Monday, August 23

3:30 p.m., Check-in/registration

5:30 p.m., Dinner

6:30 p.m., Session I with Candidate

Tuesday, August 24

8:30 a.m., Morning Prayers

9:30 a.m., Breakfast

10:30 a.m., SESSION II

12:30 p.m., Lunch

2:00 p.m., SESSION III

5:00 p.m., Dinner 

6:00 p.m., Vespers

7:00 p.m., Fellowship with Candidates

Wednesday August 25

7:30 a.m., Divine Liturgy (at SS Peter & Paul Church in Burr Ridge)

9:30 a.m., Breakfast

10:30 a.m. Address of His Beatitude, Metropolitan Jonah

12:30 p.m. Lunch
